Global Give Back Day continues throughout Kids2 global offices through the 2020 pandemic shutdown and now into 2021!

23 November 2021

Kids2 continues to give back to organizations around the world with our fourth annual global give back day. COVID-19 may have changed the way we work the last two years, but it didn’t cancel our day to give back!

With 70+ global organizations served this year, Kids2 stepped out of the "office" and into local communities living our purpose to create tiny wins for bright futures for families EVERYWHERE!

Over 350+ team members throughout Kids2 global offices volunteered with their teams and families to support a number of organizations through a variety of activities. In Atlanta in 2020 alone, over 600 books were donated to one of the two-plus book collection activities - just imagine how many books were donated when you multiple that with the activities again this year!

Global Give Back Day started with our global offices in Asia Pacific, including our Winvention factory and continued around the world celebrating Universal Children’s Day, a day for children all over the world to help save children’s lives, fight for their rights, and help them fulfil their potential.

In Asia, our global offices gave back to their local communities with groups of Kids2 teams donating their time, energy, and skills to multiple organizations.

100 team members from the Zhongshan office divided into four groups and volunteered at a variety of activities helping neighborhoods throughout the area.

  • 37 team members went to the Huiling Farm to sow, weed, and fertilize, making it the third year volunteering with the Huiling farm!

  • 15 team members spent the day at a clothing bank to sort and package donated clothing to be sent directly to the children in need in rural Guizhou.

  • Another group of about 30 team members sorted and classified books in a downtown library.

  • And 20 additional team members cleaned the riverbank in the town.

Outdoor give back activities continued in Hong Kong with a beach cleanup. Every piece of rubbish removed made a huge difference protecting our world for the next generations’ families.

The Kids2 Shanghateam visited the community service center in Lujiazhui and made a difference for the local community by cleaning the streets around the service center.

Winvention believes bright futures should be in reach for every family so they visited families with children who rely on donations from the government or social charity and have mental and/or physical disabilities. The team helped the families with their farming, cutting wood, and picking crops. Winvention team members made lucky bracelets for the families and bought school bags, stationery, drinking cups, and sports shoes to ensure the children do well in school and at home. The team found a strong purpose in giving back to these families and decided to visit them on a regular basis moving forward to make a difference in their lives.

Throughout the Asia Pacific, our global offices continued to give back in their communities.

  • This year, the Australia team once again partnered with the Parramatta Eels, a national rugby league team, to donate toys and gear through their toy drive to the Westmead Children’s Hospital to bring some cheer to families in need.
  • IJapan, the team got even more active and ran. Yes, they ran to give back with a program called the Great Santa Run 2021 Virtual Run. Each team member donated and committed to a walking/running 5k (3.1 miles) to support children fighting diseases and the doctors and nurses who have been working hard during the pandemic.

Continuing around the world, our European teams gathered toys and gear to donate to local organizations.

Team Mexico gave back while visiting a girls’ home and spent the day playing with the children and brought food, clothing, and toys.

150 US team members stepped out into their local communities from Arkansas to Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, D.C., Rhode Island, and Georgia to give back to over 60+ organizations!

  • 60 team members with their families and children cleaned out their personal libraries at home plus purchased new to donate books to local organizations, like Fiesta de Libros, Little Free Library, local elementary schools, and more. People also spent the day reading their favorite stories virtually online or in person!

  • Over 25 people sponsored families through local organizations like Our House, Atlanta’s Children Shelter, or Operation Christmas Child to fulfill holiday wish lists for families to ensure everyone is able to have something this holiday season!

  • To ensure even more families’ pantries are stocked for the holiday meals, another 25+ got the whole family involved with a pantry clean out and store shopping to gather materials to donate and deliver packaged & canned goods to local food banks, including the Lilburn Co-Op, Harvest Hope, FreeStore Foodbank, and Free99 Fridges around the city.

  • Another group of about 25 team members hosted their own donation drives of clothing, toys, gifts, food, books, etc. to donate to organizations in their neighborhoods and wrote special messages to families, care providers, nurses, and more to know they’re thought of and cared for this holiday season! Organizations impacted include Northside Hospital, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, The Place of Forsyth, Toys for Tots, North Fulton Community Charities, Cumming Home Ministries, Norcross Neighborhood Cooperative Ministry, Metropolitan Ministries, The Hannah House, and more.
