Kids II has given more than $600K to support Pink Power Mom nonprofits or organizations

Atlanta, October 15, 2018—This month, Kids II is celebrating 11 years of its Pink Power Mom network, which supports and empowers women who have persevered through their battle and are actively making a difference in the breast cancer community through local and global initiatives.

“A breast cancer diagnosis does not just affect the mom. The entire family, including her children, also receive the diagnosis,” said Ryan Gunnigle, Kids II CEO.  “The Pink Power Mom network offers hope when it is needed most. We are honored to support these inspiring women who are united with one mission to make a difference in the lives of others going through similar experiences.”

Launched in 2007, The Pink Power Mom program has honored more than 60 women in the last 11 years and donated some $600,000 directly to breast cancer-focused charities around the globe—several of which were founded by a Pink Power Mom. 

Heidi Floyd, executive director of Pink Power Moms, says "We have become a first response platform - connecting a just diagnosed woman or man with a Pink Power Mom patient advocate who faced a similar diagnosis, providing educational resources, and supporting each other’s non-profit organizations."

Floyd was diagnosed with breast cancer and treated during her 4th pregnancy. She was selected among the first class of Pink Power Moms in 2009 and now serves as the Executive Director of the Pink Power Mom network, she raises awareness and generates funds through speaking engagements, advocacy, and initiatives that aide the work of the pink power moms.

Kids II team members honored the Pink Power Moms with a team member Pink Out, a card making session, and by participating at a cheering station on the Susan G. Komen three-day walk on Friday, October 12 and will be supporting various breast cancer month volunteer activities throughout the month.
