December 27, 2018—In support of its growth initiative, Kids II bolsters its legal team adding Matthew Smith as General Counsel and Kerri Braun as Deputy General Counsel, Intellectual Property and Litigation.

Matthew Smith, General Counsel

Smith joins the Atlanta office with over 17 years-experience having served in various executive roles, including as general counsel at his two previous companies Innovolt and Comverge. Previously, Smith served as an Attorney at King & Spalding and was a law clerk for Honorable H. Emory Widener, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. At Kids II, Smith will lead all legal and compliance functions.  Smith received both his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and his Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.


Kerri Braun, Deputy General Counsel

Braun comes to Kids II from Andritz, a publicly-traded company of 26,000 employees in more than 40 countries, where she worked as Group Intellectual Property Counsel managing its global IP practice, extensive IP portfolio, and innovation initiatives. Prior to that, Braun worked in private practice in various Atlanta law firms specializing in patent and trademark prosecution, IP litigation, and IP licensing.  Braun has more than 16 years of experience in IP and litigation, and at Kids II, she will be focused on driving and managing all legal issues for Intellectual Property and Litigation. Braun obtained her Juris Doctorate and Masters in Intellectual Property at Franklin Pierce Law Center in New Hampshire (now University of New Hampshire).  She is a member of the Georgia Bar and the United States Patent Bar.
