Inside Kids2 Spotlight Story

18 September 2020

Kids2 has so many dedicated team members helping create tiny wins for bright futures for families everywhere!

Highlighting the entrepreneurial spirit & fun people we collaborate with every day around the world, we’re bringing you Inside Kids2 spotlight stories on team members from different departments throughout our global offices.

We sat down with our Winvention leaders to get to know more about their roles and interests both inside & outside of Kids2! Check out this feature on Benjamin Huang, Manager, Manufacturing.

What is your role and how long have you been at Kids2?

My role as manufacturing manager is to run the molding, sewing, metal, and assembly at our Winvention factory. I joined Kids2 in December at the end of 2018.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is witnessing the growth of the Winvention factory. When I joined Kids2, there was grass in the ground. Now, there are seven facilities built and all are in service during mass production. In addition, I feel proud the team has succeeded in delivering the ITY Babybase and Booster to our customers, and very soon, the ITY highchair will be shipped out, too.

What attracted you to Kids2 and manufacturing baby products?

The team’s collaborative culture attracted me most to Kids2. We support each other during daily work, especially during the expanding phase of Winvention. The collaborative culture within the team makes things happen.

Manufacturing baby products at Winvention attracted me most with its high quality. The production process is designed with conformity to ICTI, FCCA, GSV Etc...

If you weren’t in your current profession, what would you be doing?

I would be designing the molds. I am good at the mold structure and interested in finding better mold structures to ensure the molding process is more automatic.

What is your Favorite Kids2 Way Fundamental?

Be fanatic about response time.

The response time is quite valuable in the manufacturing factory. Too much of a delayed response time will possibly cause extra resource waste, e.g. labor hour, machine time.

What is your favorite Kids2 Memory?

My favorite Kids2 memory is the very first day onboarding at Kids2 and the 50th year ceremony. BTW?Joe Zhu, our Supply Chain Manager, and I joined Kids2 at the same day.

Tell me about a Tiny Win you have had while here at Kids2:

I participated in the tiny win of our very first full-line production at Winvention. After a long preparation period, finally we made the products in Winvention.  It is an awesome memory, too.

What was your favorite childhood toy?

Lego bricks. Lego has magic in playing any form only using standard bricks. What is interesting is that my daughter also likes playing Lego.

What are some of your favorite things to do outside of work?

My favorite thing outside of work is playing basketball. I almost watched every one of Yao’s basketball games when he was a Houston Rocket. After Yao, I am a big fan of Derrick Rose, who has flash speed and performs awesome running jump shots on the court.
